Weekly PTA NEWS – Nov 15 – 19, 2010

NEW Fundraising News: 2011 Entertainment books came home today. The books are $25.00 each. Sell 1, 2, 3, or more and earn prizes! A portion of the sales go right back to the PTA. Buy a book for your family and buy one as a gift for the holidays for another family. It is filled with local businesses who can use our support.  If you do not buy a book or sell it, please send it back to your child’s class.
Look Ahead: It’s time to start thinking about our 2011 Spring Festival. Start gathering donations and contact businesses for support and advertising opportunities

NEW DATE for McDonald’s Night – The date has changed to Tuesday November 16 from 5pm to 8pm. Please come to McD’s for dinner and enter the raffle for a chance to win a new bike from Valley Bicycle. The more tickets you buy the better your chances are to win!

Yearbook News: Get your pictures in the yearbook! Send us your photos from the assemblies, field trips, or class parties. Upload info was in the last email.

 Reflections: “Together We Can…” The Reflections art project winners were announced this morning. The winners will move on to the next level. There will be a showing of all the entries next week. Please contact Mrs. O’Berg with any questions.

5th Grade News: On sale for $1… Turkey grams. Send a Thank You with a little treat to someone who you think deserves a thoughtful card. They will be delivered on Friday. Parents and teachers of 5th graders, we have a meeting this Dec 2 in the evening. Please come to help plan events, fundraising info, and field trip updates.

Thank you to all the parents who came to the PTA Family Fun Night – Halloween Night!!!! We hope you had a fun time making arts and crafts for Halloween. The costume parade was a fun treat. Students and teachers looked fabulous!

Yearbook News:
Get your pictures in the yearbook! The Yearbook Staff invites students and parents to submit photos for the yearbook. If you’ve got great photos of school and community events or you and your friends just having fun, we’d like to see them. Our photographers can’t be everywhere. Help us get as many photos as possible to create a terrific book everyone will want to have.
Here is how you can submit photos online:
   • Go to: https://images.schoolannualonline.com/login
   • If it does not automatically log you into the site, enter:

    Username: 400054737 
    Password:  germain

   • Browse to select the photo(s) you wish to upload.
   • Enter information about the photo and provide contact information in case the staff needs additional information.
   • Click “Save Details”.

It’s that easy! Submit your photos today! The last day to submit photos is 03/15/2011.

Your uploaded photos will also make you eligible to win a $5.00 off coupon on the purchase price of a 2011 yearbook!

5th Grade News:
Thank you for supporting the 5th grade class with their Boo Grams. They sold about 300 grams!!!!!! Look for more upcoming grams to send special messages to students classmates teachers. 5th grade committee meeting. Parents and teachers of 5th graders, we have a meeting this Wednesday at 3:30 in the library.
 
Other Fundraising News:
Signature Fundraising, support the school by selling items in the catalog. Money raised goes to the student body fund for various supplies such as science lab and student achievement awards. If you have any questions please contact the school office 818-341-5821. Orders are due by Monday Nov 8.
