PTA UPDATE: This months PTA association meeting will be on Tuesday February 22. There is a community meeting in the auditorium on the original date of February 15. Please join us on February 22 for an important meeting regarding campus safety. With the recent Lock Down at several Woodland Hills schools we need to make sure we all know what to do should a Lock Down happen here. How can you help your child’s classroom? Where to go to pick up you child during a Lock Down?

PTA Elections: Next school year is just around the corner. Get involved and see the amazing things that can grow with your help. Love to plan events? Solve problems? Work with a fun group to make our school the best it can be? Join the 2011-2012 Executive Board. Election will begin soon. Think about how you can help your school, fellow parents, and all students. Help us make the next school year exciting and fresh with new members and new ideas. Make a difference and volunteer.

PTA Fund Raising News: The 2011 Spring Festival is in the works. Committees have been formed and we still need enthusiastic and creative volunteers to help plan this event. If you are interested in joining a committee please contact PTA President Michelle Gunther. This years festival is planned to be on Saturday April 30th. Ask your employers if they can donate money or goods to your child’s school for the silent auction.

5th Grade News:  The 5th grade class will be selling Valentine Grams to be distributed on Friday Feb 11. Buy a Val-O-Gram for $1.

Yearbook News:The pre-order forms have been sent home. Please return the form by Feb 4 to get the pre-sale price of $18. Happy Ads are an additional $3 and only available with pre-order.
Keep taking photos of your student and activities. Send us your photos from the assemblies, field trips, or class parties. Upload info was in previous emails.

We are searching for a photographer who can come to volunteer at our Valentine’s Formal Dance on February 11. If you are interested or know someone who is please let the PTA know. We would like to have portraits taken and available for sale.

PTA Spring Festival Planning Meeting Reminder:  There will be a Spring Festival planning meeting  TOMORROW January 21 at 8:15 am in the parent center. We NEED parents to come and volunteer with this event. It is the largest fundraiser and needs the most planning and volunteers. Please come and sign up to help this event or else we cannot move forward. This years festival is planned to be on Saturday April 30th.

Happy 2011 to our Germain families. We hope 2011 has started with excitement and energy for a fantastic year.

PTA News: Correction from last month…There IS an association meeting in January. Tuesday January 18th at 7:00 pm. Please come to hear about what we have in the works for the rest of the year. Join a committee to help make the events GREAT!!! It takes effort to plan events but the more parents we have helping the easier it is.

5th Grade News:The 5th grade class is having a restaurant fundraiser at Souplantation on Wednesday Jan 12 from  5 p.m. – 8 p.m.  Bring in a flier and enjoy a dinner out.  Thank you to the families that came to the Subway restaurant night in December. The 5th grade class thanks you!!!
